  1. My question for Bonnie is a two-part one: Do agents and editors actually look for writers' blogs, and if so, do they look for professionalism, i.e. the kind of writing I do on my blog where I try to share what I've learned in classes, conferences and so on, OR do they like the cutesy/folksy/this is who I am-let's have a contest/poll/favorite joke/guess what happened to me yesterday/ etc. kind of blog?

And if they DO look for writers, how do they find them?

  2. I know it's early. I'm not due here until the day of my debut signing--March 13. I did want to way to Mikki--they look for high-concept ideas, usually nonfiction, that they can turn into books. Think Julie and Julia. An agent friend of mine recently signed a nonfiction writer based on a blog she was writing about being pregnant. In addition to high concept, they look for blogs with large followings. The reasoning is: Lots of people are reading this online. Maybe they'll read it as a book. Hope that helps. Bonnie
